Fireworks and Mulled Wine!
We had some of those amazing days in November where the air was crisp and the sky was blue.
A perfect day for a ride. If only my pony did not always look like this when I want to ride! Such a mud monster!
All cleaned up and ready to go.
(I'm sure we wore the same kit for Cycling proficiency in primary school!! - K)
Bagpuss the cat continues her travels this month and is featured here as 'Cat by Big Wall'!
As we are now true country folk what better to do than to go scrumping! Sloes for Sloe Gin!
We picked a bag full
The country walks on the farm at this time are special.
The fields were filled that day with spun webs across the grass, sparkling in the low sun.
The church we got married in. A few yards from our front door.
We also managed to scam some of the last apples of the season from a local garden. Cooked up and frozen ready for Christmas.
The Sloe Gins ready for maturing. Apparently it will not be ready until Easter! What?! That is months away!
Another delight this year was the birth of our second niece, Harriet. The second daughter of Kenny's sister Lesley and her husband Roger.
Me playing with our other niece, Flora. I say playing it was an important lesson in cow herding. She found it hilarious.
(Sarah's lifetime experience in dairy cattle being overshadowed by a toy tractor. Good girl Flora! - K)
The house is coming on. Under the carpet in the end room we found these wonderful floor boards which Kenny spent a weekend sanding.
(Don't try this at home, unless you happen to have a professional fireman's resporator. If not, you'll be coughing up dust for a fortnight! - K)
And I spent an hour varnishing.
Check out our new floor - pretty good I reckon.
After yet another weekend of help from my fabulous brother & sister-in-law the first room is complete!
(Another Walker-Edmonds triumph - Thanks guys! - K)
One of the most lovely things about country life are the community events. One of those events in the annual performance from the 'Teesdale Players' in Cotherstone village hall.
It was a minimal set production, and the two lead men had to purposely stand one at each wing as they had to use the prompt for nearly every line!
The performance was a success. (We still have no idea what the plot was).
Finally this month Mum & I visited Raby Castle (10 mins from our home) (Really? How fast were you driving?!! - K)
A fantastic month. The house is on its way to being sorted and we are getting ready for Christmas. Kenny has fully settled in to life here and we are both enjoying country life.
